1. Admit That You Are A Sinner

Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

There is no way for us to be as perfect as God is. That is why all come short of the glory of God.

2. Agree That There Is A Payment For Sin

Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

The payment for our sin is death. That payment is a two-fold price. The first death is physical death of the human body.

Revelation 21:8b
“…and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

The second death is our spiritual demise in a place called the Lake of Fire. This results in eternal separation from God with no hope of redemption.

However, there is good news!

3. Acknowledge That Christ Paid The Price For You

Romans 5:8
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

While the payment for our sin is certainly severe, the Lord Jesus came to Earth to pay the price for our sin for us. He was perfect, yet became imperfection for our sakes

Because Jesus died, was buried, and rose again, He paid the price for sin in full. That means that He can offer us the gift of eternal life.

4. Accept Christ’s Payment For Your Sin

Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

The gift of eternal life is freely offered to all, but not accepted by every person. 

Romans 10:9
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Salvation comes from a simple faith that Jesus Christ died, was buried, and rose again for your sins.
